Analysis lets you take a closer look at your sales and affords you the flexibility to manipulate your data in order find the information you need. If you have a question about your top-performing products, category sales or margin, you’ll be able to find the answer here.
'Cube' is the term we use to describe the Analysis table - this is a dynamic table, similar to a pivot table in Excel.
Types of Analysis
There are three types of cubes:
1. Departments and sales
Working down to category level, this table allows you to analyse your store over a large timeline, letting you filter by year, month or week. If you can multiple stores, you can use this to compare their performance across departments and categories over an extended period of time.
2. Store weekly sales
For deep analysis of your store, use this cubes to explore within a 7 day period. There is a huge amount of information available in this cube for you to manipulate and analyse deeply.
3. Products
This cube shows you what is has happened with your products in the period selected. If you have more than one store, you can use this cube to compare product performance between stores.
Using Analysis - Some hints
Almost everything in the cube is draggable.
By default the value you will see is Nett Sales, but you can always add different values using the Field Chooser.
Note that Cubes include all categories, even those you have removed from rest of Pulse - for example, fuel. Use the filter 'Included in Sales' to exclude categories you have excluded in your general Pulse settings.
You can download what you're looking at as a .csv file at any point. This is useful if you want to view the data in Microsoft Excel.
Saving a view
Once you've set up your cube how you like it, you can choose to save your settings as a 'View'. This means that every time you load the cube you can apply the view and see your presets for the specified date range.
To save a view, simply apply the settings you would like, and then click the 'Views' button on the top right hand side of the screen.
In the 'Manage Views' box that appears, name your view on the left hand side (1 in the image below) and then click 'Confirm View Save'.
To load a view, simply click on 'Views' and select the view you want to load.
Important: Your saved view will be visible to everyone in your organisation.
